The full programming schedule for WonderCon Anaheim 2025 is now live.
You can join us for a more in-depth deep dive into the programming schedule on Tuesday, March 18 at 6:30pm for our annual Breaking Down the WonderCon Schedule SDConcast, but for now, let’s take a look at some of the highlights for each day of the con.
Friday, March 28
Just like last year, WonderCon will not be utilizing the Arena (which holds roughly 7500 people). There’s just nothing on the schedule to draw that size of crowd. They are still using North 200A, which holds around 1500 people, but they’ve nixed North 200B from the list of rooms as well (which has roughly the same capacity). That isn’t to say that there aren’t plenty of amazing panels throughout the weekend, but this is definitely a different convention than it was ten years ago.
On the movie/TV side, Friday is pretty light, with the highlights being an advanced screening of the season two premiere of The Walking Dead: Dead City at 9pm in North 200A. There’s also a screening for Adult Swim’s new Lazarus series at 7:45pm in North 200A, as well as your first look at Shudder’s Clown in a Cornfield at 6:30pm in North 200A with Collider senior producer Perri Nemiroff.
We’ve had plenty of SpongeBob celebrations over the years between WonderCon and San Diego Comic-Con — but how many live concert events have we had? Join Tom Kenny & The Hi-Seas, as well as Radioactive Chicken Heads, for a fun panel/event at 8pm in North 100B.
Get the inside scoop in how the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film managed to make it to the screen at 6:30pm in Room 300C with producer Bobby Herbeck.
Legion M, the world’s first fan-owned entertainment company, discusses their most recent projects at 4:45pm in North 100B, including a look at Fade to Black with actor and comedian Karan Soni (Deadpool). Have you ever wondered what goes into making the world of MCU projects feel real and lived in? Join set decorators from Miss Marvel, Agent Carter, Loki, and more at 5:30pm in Room 213AB.
Taskmaster LA heads to WonderCon at 8:30pm, in what is sure to be a very lively panel at 8:30pm in Room 300C. Panelists will be tasked with completing aburd tasks to gain artibratry points, and they promise “heavy” audience involvement.
We’re big fans of everyone involved in the “Toonstock’s Sweet 16!” panel at 6pm in North 100B, which celebrates music in animation with prizes, interactive performances, and more. For something a bit scarier, head to the “Terrifying Tropes” panel at 4:30pm in Room 208, with authors discussing their tropes, including Chuck Tingle, Liz Kerin, CJ Leede, and more.
On the toys side, we’re most excited for “Inside the McFarlane Toys Multiverse” alongside Todd McFarlane at 4pm in North 200A.
Love the history of Comic-Con? Join CCI’s own David Glanzer, as well as Greg Koudoulian, as they pour over Comic-Con founder Shel Dorf’s photos from the early years of the con at 1pm in Room 211. Pop culture historians will also want to pop by Room 213AB at 4:30pm for a look inside the history of Hanna-Barbera with Mark Evanier and John Semper (as well as animation historians Jerry Beck and Greg Ehrbar) at 4:30pm in Room 213AB.
Take a look back at the Browncoat fandom at 9pm in Room 211 — you might even see a familiar UBlog face (or at least a familiar back-of-the-head). The doctors are in at the “Bad Medicine: The Best and Worst of Michael Bay” panel at 8:30pm in Room 208 as real life doctors discuss what Michael Bay’s films get right and wrong.
If you prefer to learn hands-on, get the scoop on how to build your own WALL-E puppet at 5pm in Room 300E.
Also, heed our warning… the “Animals on Screen: Live Animals vs CGI” panel is not cute or cuddly.
Saturday, March 29
As always, Saturday is the biggest day at WonderCon, with the biggest names. Attendees will get a deep dive into the animated Invincible series with the co-showrunner, art director, and more at 12:45pm in North 200A. That’s followed at 2:30pm with the legendary Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica, For All Mankind). NBC’s procedural The Hunting Party gets a nice spotlight at 3:15pm in the same room, with cast members and showrunners in attendance. Then the room closes out before the Masquerade with the upcoming horror film Until Dawn, where fans will get an exclusive sneak peek, at 4:30pm in North 200A.
Elsewhere on the schedule you can step into the world of both X-Men: The Animated Series and X-Men ’97 in a panel at 12:30pm in North 100B, which has tons of voice cast, behind-the-scenes writers and character designs, and more.
You’ll find a look into the writing of DC’s animated films over the last 18 years at 11:30am in North 200A. You can either delve into the world of Only Murders in the Building at 10am in Room 300A with the editors of the series, or get a behind-the-scenes look at Skeleton Crew and Kenobi at 10:15 in North 200A with droid technicians and puppeteers. And we’re glad the Gremlins: The Wild Batch screening is at 1pm in Room 207 and not after midnight.
Film and comics collide at the Comixology Originals panel at 3pm in Room 213CD, with actor Thomas Jane. Then it’s time to party with a look at LGBTQ+ representation in comics with Tim Sheridan, David Booher, Meghan Fitzmartin, and more at 5pm in Room 300A. You’ll also find plenty of great representation at the “Trans Masculine Representation in Entertainment” panel at 6pm in Room 300A, with actors, writers, cosplayers, and beyond.
There is no bigger comics panel (and maybe no bigger panel of the weekend, period) on Saturday than the Jim Lee and Todd McFarlane joint talk at 3pm in North 100B.
Delve into the world of Batman and Arkham with a panel at 8pm in Room 300A which has some fun attendees, including Kyle Higgins (Nightwing), Ernie Altbacker (Batman: Hush Animated), and more. Get the scoop on “Women in Comics” at 12pm in Room 213CD with TV writer Amy Chu (Carmilla: The First Vampire, Red Sonja) and writers Tilly Bridges and Susan Bridges (Monster High, Star Trek Prodigy).
BAD IDEA will be on hand at 11:30am in Room 213AB to discuss its upcoming slate, as well as an exclusive giveaway. Mark Waid (JLU, Kingdom Come) gets a spotlight panel at 10:30am in Room 213AB. You’ll also catch Mark Waid discussing all things DC with Dan Slott at 1:45pm in North 100B.
Get the beat on The Beat with Editor-in-Chief Heidi MacDonald at 2pm in Room 213CD, as they look into covering comics in today’s world. Also be sure to check out Gary Sassaman (former director of programming and publications at Comic-Con International)’s “Tales From My Spinner Rack LIVE!” panel at 3pm in Room 209, as he delves into the “first steps” of the Fantastic Four alongside Mark Evanier.
Always be sure to read the descriptions on panels, because you might just miss some hidden gems, like “The Folio Society: What Makes a Marvel Story Unforgettable”, which sees actor and comedian Patton Oswalt join writer Jordan Blum to discuss Marvel’s storytelling at 2pm in Room 207.
Toy fans will want to check out the Thrilljoy panel with CEO Brian Mariotti, which promises giveaways, at 10am in North 100B.
And of course, there’s the always-popular “Cartoon Voices” at 4pm in Room 207.
Later that evening, you’ll want to head back to North 200A for the annual WonderCon Masquerade at 8:30pm, where you’ll see the best of the best when it comes to cosplay.
Sunday, March 30
It’s a much lighter day on the TV/movies front. Disney animation fans can celebrate the 25th anniversary of Emperor’s New Groove with the director and writer of the film, as well as character designers and artists, at 4pm in Room 207.
We’re most excited about the 20th anniversary of The Thrilling Adventure Hour, a long-running live show in the LA scene, with many of the cast in attendance, including Craig Cackowski, Mark Gagliardi, Marc Evan Jackson, Hal Lublin, Annie Savage, Paul F. Tompkins, Janet Varney, and others, as well as creators Ben Acker and Ben Blacker. Set your dial to North 100B at 1:15pm to tune in.
Nacelle (The Toys That Made Us) always put on a good show, and we’re excited to hear more from Brian Volk-Weiss about their new line of Star Trek figures at 12:30pm in Room 300C.
We’re big fans of Dan Veesenmeyer, who has worked on everything from X-Men: The Animated Series, to clients like Mondo, Hasbro, Marvel, DC, and beyond. He gets his own spotlight at 11:30am in Room 208.
WonderCon just happens to be next to a little place called Disneyland (maybe you’ve heard of it?) — and you can delve into the science of the parks with astrophysicists, paleontologists, and more at 3pm in Room 207.
Double your Mark’s, double your fun! Join Mark Waid and Mark Evanier as they answer your burning questions at 11am in Room 207.
The con (mostly) closes out again with the annual Comic-Con town hall — “Talk Back”, at 3:30pm in Room 213AB. This is your chance to let the minds behind CCI know what you really think.
