Actor and Writer David Dastmalchian Teases San Diego Comic-Con 2026 Appearance for Upcoming Projects

Actor, writer, and all-around monster appreciator David Dastmalchian confirmed during his WonderCon panel this weekend that he’ll be heading to San Diego Comic-Con 2026, where he teased he’ll be doing “some fun things” tied to a pair of upcoming books.

One of those is Kingdom of Earth, his newly announced monster comic from Dark Horse Comics, co-written with Leah Kilpatrick and illustrated by Soo Lee, which imagines a world where classic movie monsters have taken over the planet. The first issue is set to hit comic shops on July 15, 2026, which puts it right in SDCC striking distance for a big push.

Dastmalchian will also be promoting a separate monster-filled project about henchmen, which sounds like The Accessories, an upcoming four-issue series from PANICK Entertainment debuting this summer. Also created by Dastmalchian and Leah Kilpatrick, with art by Patrick Piazzalunga and colors by Marco Brakko, the series follows the put-upon assistants and henchmen of classic monsters as they try to break free from their manipulative masters, all while dodging a very angry, vengeance-driven humanity. It sounds like a support group for Igor, Renfield, and company, only with more torches and pitchforks.

We’ll share additional details as they’re available.
