Under the Tents 2025: Amy Mebberson, Krispy Kreme Donuts, Patrick Ballesteros, Megan Lara

The news has been coming in hot and heavy this week, and it’s only going to grow in volume from here. But we’re still taking time out of our busy schedules to bring you Under the Tents with all the latest round-up of news on artists, vendors, and doughnuts.

Let’s take a look at the news you might have missed:

  • While not “new” news, in that we already knew Weta Workshop was heading to Booth #3613 with their pals Legend Story Studios, their convention prep photos are truly something to behold.

  • We do BELIEVE that Patrick Ballesteros will be bringing a “handful” of his Ted Lasso pins to #DD-08 in Artist Alley.

  • Randy at WCG Comics revealed that his Rob Hanes Adventures 26 will be dropping at the show, along with back issues, trade collections, original art, prints, and sketches. Whew, that’s a lot of art. Catch him at Small Press #K-01.

The countdown to this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, July 24-27, has begun and I’m pleased to confirm that I’ll be there at Booth K1 in the Small Press Area!

Rob Hanes Adventures 26 will drop at the show, and I’ll have all back issues, trade collections, original art, prints and sketches for sale.

  • Artist Scottt C gave a little tease of an upcoming piece headed to San Diego Comic-Con, and it looks both iron and giant.

  • Author and artist Garza Santiago showed off a preview of their promotional story for their novel, Mosh. It will contain the first two chapters of the book and be distributed at Comic-Con.

  • Speaking of teases, Elhoffer Design has one. We’re sure to get a closer look at their fashion SDCC exclusives soon.

  • Artist Sean Forney showed off his limited edition art print of a Saiko x Scarlet Huntress piece, featuring art by Nate Lovett (pencils), Jamie Snell (inks), and Forney himself (pencils and colors). You can pick it up across the show floor at #EE-03, #EE-04, or #K-03.

  • Still thinking about this season of Andor? You’re not alone. Artist Megan Lara has you covered, though, with this beautiful new print, headed to #CC-19 at Comic-Con.

  • Malia Doodles is a killa — and by that, we mean she’s got a Kill La Kill poster, printed with blood spatter in red foil, headed to her booth at Comic-Con.

  • Certainly not exclusive to Comic-Con (and there isn’t even one nearby!), but Krispy Kreme will be launching “Hungry for Heroes” DC superhero themed doughnuts. And during the convention, from Thursday July 24 – Sunday, July 27, participating locations nationwide will offer all guests “who show some love for their favorite DC Super Hero” one free Hungry Heroes doughnut with any purchase. So tell your friends and family feeling the FOMO.

  • The tiny world of Le Petit Elefant returns to San Diego Comic-Con, where they’ll once again be at Small Press #L-08 with new magnets, including Mahal Kita and Oh My Gular.

  • Kirby’s Comic Art showed off a closer look at the BOOM! Studios Power Rangers exclusive cover by Franceso Tomaselli. You can find more information on it, and the rest of BOOM!’s San Diego Comic-Con exclusives and panels, over here.
