San Diego Comic-Con 2026 Gaslamp Banners Appear

Every year, the city of San Diego gets “dressed up” for San Diego Comic-Con, from building wraps, trolley wraps, and beyond. But one of the surest signs that San Diego Comic-Con is just around the corner is when the annual Gaslamp banners go up.

And as has been the tradition for most recent years, Marvel Studios is once again sponsoring the Gaslamp Quarter banners, with this year’s offering being a subtle design for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, with an Avengers “A” bathed in green light. Even the official Comic-Con logo gets an eerie green overlay.

The film, currently slated to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, will unite a massive roster of Marvel heroes against one of the franchise’s most formidable threats: Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr. (who was announced for the role back at SDCC in 2024, in one of Marvel’s most iconic panel moments ever, and there’s a long list of contenders for that title).

We already know Marvel Studios will have a major presence at San Diego Comic-Con this year, including its return to Hall H. With Avengers: Doomsday less than six months away, fans can almost certainly expect the film to play a significant role in Marvel’s presentation, with plenty still to tease ahead of the December release.

Of course, if recent years are any indication, Avengers: Doomsday may not be the only Marvel property decorating the Gaslamp (and there could also be additional designs that pop up). Several years, Disney has purchased multiple banners, including for 20th Century Fox — including last summer’s Predator: Badlands. My money is still on an appearance for the upcoming The Dog Stars, but time will tell.
