It’s only Tuesday, but already, this week feels like it’s shaping up to be a big one, news wise. Today we got word of a Transformers: The Movie 40th anniversary concert from Hasbro, as well as Transformers exclusives. Tickets for Hasbro’s Candy Land Cafe pop-up went on sale (maybe it’s just a big Hasbro day in general!). The Vampire Lestat premiered on AMC and AMC+ on Sunday. Wait, that one’s not San Diego Comic-Con news?! Sure could have fooled me.
Here’s a look at the news you might have missed:
- Scott Cox Studios is heading back to San Diego Comic-Con where they’ll be setup at #Q-13, with two SDCC-exclusive preview editions. Fans can get an early look at Chronicles of War: Gladiators, written by Scott Cox with artwork by Marco Consentino, which continues the post-apocalyptic adventures of Guardian and David, as well as Curse of the Ichor, written by Cox and illustrated by Carlos Beccaria, which reimagines the origins of Dracula through a mix of monsters, myths, and supernatural horror. Both preview editions feature blood-red holo-foil covers and will be available for $20 each, alongside Chronicles of War Volume 1 with variant covers priced from $25-$60.
- At their Nintendo Direct live event, the gaming company confirmed that they’ll be heading to SDCC this summer, and that attendees will get a chance to play Splatoon Raiders on the show floor.

- The Bat Boys can keep guard over your comics collection and books with Eunisyn’s book nook standees, featuring the iconic duo of Batman and Robin, as well as a standalone Red Hood. She’ll have ten at her booth #DD-10, so hurry.
- Illustrator and artist Gary Laib got all kinds of good news this week. Not only is his latest comic Voidwalker being published by 1First Comics, but they’re also going to be bringing him and writer Steve Stern to San Diego Comic-Con, to sign copies “at least” two days of the con. Congratulations all around, Gary!

- Here’s a riddle for you: Is an edition of “Under the Tents” even still “Under the Tents” if there’s no crochet in it? Let’s hope we never have to find out. Skarsgard Fans has us covered today with some adorable crochet creations heading to the con, so be sure to follow along on social for your chance to claim them during the event.
Some of the finished #crochet critters for #sdcc #artdrop. Will leave around #gaslampquarter during the convention in July #sdcc2026 #woobles also have some Totoros and Gudetama (need to sew up) pic.twitter.com/jGQl65Sy9L

- It is also not really an edition of “Under the Tents” without at least one panel confirmation, and that honor goes today to “Pitching Animation in 2026: What Buyers Actually Want Now“, featuring Sam Goff, Malia D. Jennings, Pat Stout, Bill Drastal, David Trumble, and John Rauschelbach. No word yet on time or location, but they’ll explore trends buyers are prioritizing and the rise of indie animation.
- Smallville actress Kristin Kreuk will be on hand at San Diego Comic-Con to promote her Titan Comics Black Star comic, co-written with Peter Mooney (Rookie Blue) and screenwriter Eric Putzer. Stay tuned for more details.

- The Moon Minis latest book will be releasing at SDCC this summer, featuring Crater the Moon Mini Pup. It sounds out of this world.
- Brian Brown, we’re happy to report that we do like events at San Diego Comic-Con featuring you. The Eisner-winning cartoonist will be at the con, possibly with a special guest, but we’ll have to stay tuned for more details of what he’s up to.

- Artist Steve Gordon has some x-citing prints to show attendees, including a new X-Men: Evolution Night Crawler print heading to San Diego Comic-Con.
- We’re on an express elevator to hell, goin’ down! Or at least goin’ down to Booth #1509. If you didn’t catch the news, the cult classic sequel Aliens will be getting a 40th anniversary panel at SDCC this year, and The Alien Warrior himself will be there — or at least his actor, Carl Toop. Catch him at Booth #1509 during the con.

- The good folks over at Now or Never Comics, our favorite little Gaslamp comic shop, are busy planning away for San Diego Comic-Con 2026. Looks like Tiny Onion, the production house for James Tynion IV, will be bringing another Corpse Tour for Exquisite Corpses back to Now or Never this July. More details and ticket information still to come.
- Felix Comic Art has been slowly announcing their artists offering pre-con commission spots, but they’ll also have a “killer” exclusive at Booth #4612. Any guesses?

- Writer Jenny Blake has some big plans for San Diego Comic-Con this year. The creator of beloved characters like Black Lightning and Misty Knight will be on not one, not two, but THREE panels at the con this year. But wait, there’s more! She will also be signing at the Prism booth!
I can't go into details as to why I'm going there at this time, though that will come out soon and it's not being cast as Edna Mode in the live-action Incredibles. But I will be appearing on three panels and signing at the Prism Comics booth from time to time.

- The good folks at Monkey Minion gave attendees a bird’s-eye view of a piece heading to San Diego Comic-Con. Looks tasty.

- Artist M. Victoria Robado went a few steps further from a tease and gave fans a breakdown of the prints, plush, and pins she’ll have at at her booth. Click below to view larger.
- Conventions are hard work, and hard on your feet. So if you’re looking to take a load off your feet while still being entertained, look no further than the San Diego Convention Center Mezzanine, where the Barony of Calafia will be performing live armored fighting demos, Thursday-Saturday at 12pm and 4pm daily, and again on Sunday atg 12pm and 3pm. Want to join in? If you’re an active SVA member in good standing, you can find more information about how to join the good fight on Facebook.

- Hollow and Monstrous Beautiful Things author Taylor Grothe is getting a real bucket list moment this year by heading to San Diego Comic-Con. Schedule still TBA.
- The Dark in Her Veins author M.K. Lobb has a packed schedule this year, but she’s made time to stop at SDCC in July.

- We love when artists tell us their booth numbers, so thank you, Salvador Velázquez, who will be setup on the exhibit floor at Artist Alley #EE-12. Keep an eye out for pre-con commission info soon.
See you at SDCC! Artists' Alley, Table EE-12.

- So no one told you life was gonna be this way? clap clap Oh, not those kinds of friends? Well, artist Don Nguyen has shared some friends of his own on his annual Friends List, including the addition of the legendary Stuart Ng Books, who will be hosting Geof Darrow, Alice Darrow, Sean Gordon Murphy, and more at Booth #5012. It sounds like it actually is our day, our week, and our year.
If you are attending San Diego Comic Con, be sure to stop by the legendary Stuart Ng Books as they will be hosting Geof Darrow, Alice Darrow, Sean Gordon Murphy & @artgerm.bsky.social at booth 5012!
Use my #FriendsList to find other amazing creators. I’ll be updating the list up until I head out.

- How about some autograph news? Artist Ricardo Delgado will be signing at the Clover Press booth Thursday and Friday of the con, as well as doing portfolio reviews over at ADG Local 800 Members booth.
- And in last place, because video announcements are our least favorite here at the UBlog, Neacol Miller Glass showed off some Lucky Duck in a Cow Onesie glass figures she’ll be bringing to SDCC at #E-05. Sounds legen-dairy.
