Are you hoping to head to San Diego Comic-Con 2027?
The road to next year’s convention officially begins next month, with Comic-Con International previously announcing that Returning Registration will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The sale is only open to eligible returning attendees who purchased a San Diego Comic-Con 2026 paid attendee badge.
The virtual waiting room will open at 7:30am PT, with the actual badge sale beginning at 9am PT. As in previous years, it doesn’t matter when you enter the waiting room before the sale begins — there is no advantage to arriving early (though, as us Comic-Con attendees know, most of us will anyway because we are nothing if not overprepared).
Once 9am rolls around, everyone in the waiting room will be randomized, with selected attendees moved into 15-minute registration sessions to purchase from the remaining badge inventory.
To confirm that you’re eligible, log into your Comic-Con Member ID account and head to your Account Dashboard. Under your name, Member ID, and email, you should see “Eligibility: ✔ Comic-Con 2027 Returning Registration.”

Returning Registration is open to paid Comic-Con 2026 attendees, as well as eligible children who attended with a child badge and successfully completed the child-to-junior validation process for 2027. First-time attendees, professionals and their guests, press, vendors, exhibitors, retailers, volunteers, staff, program participants, complimentary pass recipients, and several other groups are not eligible for this sale and will have separate registration opportunities.
Here’s a look at 2027 prices:
- Preview Night badge (only available with all days) — $67
- Thursday badge — $88
- Friday badge — $88
- Saturday badge — $88
- Sunday badge — $67

During the sale, you can purchase badges for up to three people, and you don’t have to be one of those three (meaning you can either purchase for yourself + two others, or none for yourself but purchase for three other eligible attendees). Everyone you’re buying for must independently qualify for Returning Registration, and you’ll need their Member ID and last name exactly as it appears on their account, including any special characters or punctuation. In other words: Start assembling your badge-buying groups now.
For families, children age 12 and under can still attend Comic-Con for free with a paying adult, with up to two children permitted per paid adult attendee. For Comic-Con 2027, July 31, 2026 is the cutoff date used to determine child status. Anyone who was at least 13 on that date will need their own Member ID and the opportunity to purchase a badge, while those who were 12 or younger can continue attending as a child for free.
And, as always, being eligible for Returning Registration does not mean you’re guaranteed a badge. We would also recommend you read through CCI’s guide.
If you strike out, there’s still another chance. Those who miss out, need additional days, or are not eligible for this sale will get a second chance with Open Registration, set for Saturday, November 14, 2026. All you need is a valid Member ID.
Set those alarms, assemble your buying groups, and prepare for the stress. Welcome, folks, to San Diego Comic-Con 2027.
