WonderPost 2024: Lenore Zann, Bob’s Burgers Fan Meat-Up, Robert Griggs, Val Hochberg

WonderCon Anaheim 2024 will be here before you know it, and while we got news that Funko and its various brands won’t be at the convention this year, there’s still plenty to do, see, and buy. We’ve rounded up everything for you from panel announcements to artwork and cosplay meet-ups.

Here’s a look at what you might have missed:

  • Writer and illustrator William O’Neill, otherwise known as “That Gentleman Nerd”, will be heading to WonderCon this month for his first convention of the year.

  • Speaking of convention sketches, artist WAY$HAK also showed off a new Joker sketch, which will be get some color prior to WonderCon. Stop by #B-35 in Artists Alley to get a look at the final piece.

  • Who ya gonna call? Artist Nick Kremenek, otherwise known as Dreamforger Studios, was accepted into WonderCon and is trying to make his way there. If he succeeds, you’ll be able to pick up this Egon Spengler print (which will be getting colored and finalized) at his booth.

  • You don’t have long to wait for panel announcements, but you have even less time to wait to find out that Julian Jetson is bringing back the popular “Gay Geeks and Where to Find Them” panel to WonderCon. Because we just told you, so now you know. Get it?

  • We have more panel confirmations where that came from. Get ready to be delightfully scared by “Such Sights to Show You: How Women in Horror Make Movies at Any Budget”, a panel featuring Alison Star Locke, Brea Grant, Camille Corbett, Chelsea Stardust, Maggie Levin, and Virginia Powers Hendry.

  • In space, no one can hear you say “Oh, boy!”. Artist Robert Griggs showed off a mash-up of Alien and Mickey Mouse, which will potentially be turned into a giclee print on watercolor paper for WonderCon. If you’re interested, be sure to let him know on social.

  • As we wait for the official exhibitor list, we’re always thankful to Don Nguyen for providing his “Friends List” of booth numbers for artists, exhibitors, writers, and more you’ll want to check out on the show floor. He recently shared an update, and mentioned a “rumor” that he’ll be hosting a panel with Chubby Bunny Art.

  • Artist Collaboration Experience showed off more of the merch they’ll have at Booth #2266 at WonderCon, this time for Danglerlemonz, which includes charms, stickers, and more.

  • Stickers make everything better. Seriously. And we’re seriously into artist Val Hochberg’s new sticker sheets for Lord of the RingsDungeons & Dragons, and more.

  • Actress Lenore Zann, best known as the voice of Rogue in X-Men: The Animated Series, will be appearing at the convention all three days at Giant-Size Productinos’ Booth #DL-21. You’ll also find her on the annual X-Men Fandom Panel on Saturday, March 30 at 7pm PT, as hosted by X-Reads Podcast and The Uncanny Experience.

  • Is it even a WonderCon without a WonderCon Meat-Up? Join your fellow Bob’s Burgers fans on Saturday, March 30 at 3pm PT at the small fountain outside. Cosplay is encouraged but not required, and they’ll have new badge ribbons and friendship bracelets to give out. Join the Facebook event group to learn more.

  • Earlier that day, you can also swing by the big fountain for the Monkie Kid Meetup, where fans of the LEGO series Monkie Kid can meet-up for trivia and small prizes.

  • You’re going to need a bigger (life)boat for all the merch and exclusives you’ll be buying at WonderCon. Luckily, Critical Entertainment’s Lifeboat one-shot won’t take up much room, as it’s only 12 pages, and available for $2.99 at Booth #1309.

  • While the real mafia may not be someone you want to meet, the Nerd Mafia is another matter. Catch the nonprofit organization (and hosts for the official Power Morphicon) at #FC-17.
