San Diego Comic-Con isn’t just about celebrating those on the big screens. It also gives an opportunity to truly showcase the people that bring those characters to life behind the scenes whether that be the directors, producers, writers, animators, you name it. And one of the most important behind-the-scenes jobs is costuming.
Costume designers are one of the most important pieces on a production. Whether the production takes place today or 100 years ago, costume designers have to have a keen sense for the story and world to know exactly what outfit the character needs to wear for any given scene. They have to know which piece of clothing fits in each decade and be able to create costumes for characters that only exist in fantasy worlds.
The Costume Designers Guild will have three panels at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, celebrating some of those costume designers and some of your favorite franchises, including behind-the-scenes talent from The Hunger Games, Orville, Atlas, Avengers: Infinity War, The Mandalorian, The Last of Us, The Fall Guy, The Boys, and more.
