It’s a perfect 85℉ early-summer day outside and I have chosen to spend the afternoon here, in my house, bathed in the blue-light of my computer, nary an iota of flora or fauna in sight, to bring you this San Diego Comic-Con news. You’re welcome.
Would I rather be outside, making the most of the beautiful weather before the midwestern humidity descends upon my city like the most stifling and scratchy blanket you can possibly imagine? Of course not. Don’t be ridiculous. Sunlight, Ew. No thank you. I’m perfectly happy here, digging up tidbits. Like panel announcements. Like exclusive toys. Like effin’ bookmarks.
Let’s take a look at all the news, straight from my own Subterranea:
- Big things go down at NY Toy Fair, and if you’re not paying close attention, you might miss some great announcements. It happens to the best of us, but thankfully, we have Pixel Dan who was there and made this amazing video featuring upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x G.I. Joe action figure sets from Playmates. This set will include a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive version of Snake Eyes x Leonardo, which swaps a Splinter figure for a Timber / Razhar figure. Customarily, we see the T.M.N.T. Playmates exclusives offered at the Nickelodeon booth. We’ll have to wait to hear if that’s where we can snag this one.

- The very busy, and very popular Brett Bean is balancing work on his own series from Image, Dorc, while also working on a little series, maybe you have heard of it? Just a little thing called Dungeon Crawler Carl? No? Maybe Google it? Anyway! Brett reminded his Substack readers that he will be at San Diego Comic-Con.
- The iconic spirit of famed Korean illustrator and manhwa artist Kim Jung Gi lives on in SuperAni, the official merchandise seller of Gi’s work in North America. SuperAni recently posted on Twitter that they will be exhibiting at San Diego Comic-Con again in 2026, and bringing juggernauts Rockhe Kim, Dongho Kim, Peter Han, and Hyunjin Kim.
Excited to share some of the events we’ll be attending and participating in this year. Stay tuned for more updates coming soon!
Confirmed events so far:
• San Diego Comic-Con
• New York Comic ConWe’re also excited to have Rockhe Kim joining us at SDCC this year alongside…

- By hook or by crook…er….maybe make that “by hook or by yarn”, crochet artist Franny G. of FrancesCupCreations will be joining in on the “finders keepers” drops of crochet creations at SDCC. We are a “more the merrier” kind of blog here so we say, “Yes, please!”

- Premiering at the San Diego Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival will be Inner Child, a science fiction action adventure film that was a thesis project from writer/director Mauricio Dzierwa, of the University of Texas at Austin. Inner Child melds live-action, animation, and video game machina to inspire an office worker. Congrats, folks!
- It’s always a joy to see how toy and product developer John Ottinger has expanded his Dweores universe each year at SDCC. The artist recently revealed a new piece, “Searching for the Invisible Mountain”, that you’ll be able to see in person in July.

- In a response on Twitter, artist Reiq.art, Reinaldo Quintero, mentioned that he will be at San Diego Comic-Con and that there will be exclusive drops with UDON Entertainment. Please make note of the “s” on the end of “drops”… meaning more than one, right?
I’ll be there with exclusive drops from @UdonEnt

- More panel announcements slipped out over the holiday weekend, including from Sita-Marie Pillay, who will be discussing how graphic novels and sequential art can shape identities and boost resilience with Storyworlds and Survival. Experts in the fields of Veterans Affairs and psychology will be joining her for the panel. Day, time and location TBA.
- Eagle-eyed Facebook users may have seen a recent post from European based Kaustic Plastic, experts on 1/6 scale figures and dolls, featuring a striking Conan the Barbarian item getting photographed. The caption indicates that Conan will get his “final reveal” at San Diego Comic-Con. To further the intrigue, the hashtags “InfiniteStatue” and “Sideshowcollectibles” are also included.
- Artist Todd Beats (Final Boss) was also posting over on Facebook, this time mentioning that there will be a variant cover for Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #11 at Comic-Con. We anxiously await that reveal.
- He’s an absolute menace (his words!) but he’s OUR menace, and by “our” I mean all San Diego Comic-Con attendees, because Don Nguyen will be returning to Artist-Alley in 2026. Find him at #AA-22 with his Topps and Upper Deck products, commissions, and not one, but TWO Life Drawing sessions. And of course, his beloved Indie Floor Tour.
Look who's back.
Find me at #SDCC Artist Alley AA-22! Commissions are open.#FriendsList coming soon. Organizing the #IndieFloorTour, repping @Topps & @UpperDeckEnt product I'm on & there will be 2 Life Drawing on the Go! Sessions!!!

- Let’s all give a very warm welcome to artist Simone Di Meo, who is making a San Diego Comic-Con with Di Tullio Art Collective. Di Meo will be offering pre-show commission slots so keep an eye on our Commissions page for those.
- Some of the silhouettes that Official Syndicate Collectibles teased us with last month are being revealed, like this retro-inspired M3GAN 2.0 figure. We still don’t know any details but we suspect that we’ll be seeing painted prototypes and packaging at the event…at least, that’s what we’re hoping.
- That mad effin’ genius behind Effin’ Birds has generously saved some of these effin’ sweet bookmarks for those of us effin’ goobers who will be at San Diego Effin’ Comic-Con. If you can’t effin’ wait, you should check the effin’ link.

I have some more squirrelled away for Indianapolis, Anaheim and San Diego, but beyond that I expect I’ll run out: eatf.art/whereAlternately, that comic is on mugs and shirts and stickers and all kinds of other stuff from Threadless: eatf.art/ai
- Speaking of effin’ geniuses, here comes BB-Cre.8 with another SDCC enamel pin tease.
More sneak peaks of what’s coming for #sdcc2026. A new CITY saber CONNECTING the traditions we grew up with to celebrate the dearly departed and the city we love so much! #sdcc pic.twitter.com/LvBv3n4gDS

- I was perusing the Substacks the other day and saw that Jessica Maison, writer of the brilliant Mary Shelley’s School For Monsters graphic novel series, included an appearance schedule for their Wicked Tree Press. Huzzah! San Diego Comic-Con has made the list!

- Have you hopped on the prop-collecting wagon yet? Either way, you’ll want to join the The Stuff Dreams are Made Of props Podcast with showrunners David Mandel (Veep) and Ryan Condal (House of the Dragon) for a live podcast / panel at Comic-Con. Details TBA, but I think the odds of a House of the Dragon panel just went up. After all, Condal did say last year they’d “go big” at the con in 2026…
- Looking for a new career trajectory? This “From Fan Art to Careers” panel is packed to the gills with creative individuals who want to help you take your passion to a paycheck. Details TBA.
- Now, if you think that you have to travel far to make it to San Diego Comic-Con, just imagine the mileage for the Biker Mice From Mars… it’s only about 280 million miles. Round trip! On motorcycles! You’ll never complain about a long layover again. Anyway, the Nacelle Company wouldn’t dream of arriving to SDCC empty-handed, and as proof they showed off a toy prototype on Facebook.
- If your favorite holiday is SDCC, then your second favorite holiday is probably Halloween. Make plans to join Drew Edwards for his panel celebrating his creation Halloween Man, scheduled for Friday, July 24 at 8pm in Room 25ABC.
- The good kids over at BeKyoot are working on new tee designs for SDCC and they are looking mighty tasty!
You might need to skip the extra parm on top if you order from Cozytown Pizzeria tonight. Floof found the BIG WEDGE OF CHEESE. This will be the first of my new tee drops coming to SDCC! I'm thinking of a retro style palette maybe? What do you think? 😄❤️❤️ pic.twitter.com/bBP6Dm7xge
