In the last day we had two major developments in con news. On the movies side, the New York Times dropped this story explaining how many movie studios are skipping the con entirely this year, fearing fan backlash or wasted money. On the TV side, Seat 42f launched their annual list of what shows will be at the con and being a major force in the TV news world, had confirmations that are totally new. We’ve got a full rundown on all the announcements below.
New TV Updates :
Will Attend
-Falling Skies
-The Big Bang Theory
-Castle
-Chuck
-Once Upon a Time
-The Nine Lives of Chloe King
-The River
-Terra Nova
-The Vampire Dairies
-The Walking Dead
Won’t Attend:
-Hawaii 5-0
No big surprises. Hawaii 5-0 barely made a sound at last year’s con and I doubt ABC Family’s The Nine Lives of Chloe King will this year. All the rest seem like worthy and buzz building choices.
New Movie Updates:
Will Attend
-Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 1
-Cowboys & Aliens
-Tintin (Possibly with Spielberg in attendance)
-Rise of the Planet of the Apes
-Fright Night (Source)
-The Raven
-Shark Night 3D
Won’t Attend
(None of these were specifically stated in the article and conflicting reports are still coming in, so take these as NY Times sanctioned speculation)
-The Muppets (Source)
-John Carter
-The Dark Knight Rises
-Frankenweenie
-Real Steel
-Apollo 18
Some of these are disappointing for sure (Shark Night 3D, really?) but the confirmed ones are still a decent list and the previously announced Spider-Man is sure to be huge.
What’s your favorite confirmation? What about least favorite? Mine would have to be Tintin and The Walking Dead for best, The Muppets for worst.
