WonderPost: Symbiote Studios, Joey Spiotto, Jeff Pina, Toddland, Valor & Vellum

Yesterday we posted some news on San Diego Comic-Con, which was mostly met with a chorus of, “But what about WonderCon?”. The good news is, Comic-Con International has heard your cries (or we just had really good timing), and also finally sent out confirmations to vendors for WonderCon as well yesterday afternoon, meaning we now have a slew of WonderCon announcements for you today as well!

We are just 51 days away from the Anaheim convention (scheduled for April 1-3, 2022), and while we don’t have an answer to, “But when are badges/hotels going up?”, we do have some pieces of the puzzle!

Here’s a look at the news you might have missed:

  • It’s happening, guys! It’s really happening! Artist Patrick Ballesteros confirmed he received his placement for WonderCon Anaheim 2022.

  • Symbiote Studios have big plans for WonderCon this year, with new merch for My Little Pony and Transformers, as well as some Rivals of Aether plush being announced on opening night. We have missed our daily dose of Rock-Paper-Scissors at their booth!

  • President/COO of Top Cow, Matt Hawkins, had some exciting news — you can find him in Artist Alley at WonderCon this spring.

  • Masquerade! Painted faces on parade! Cartoonist and artist Phil Foglio will be at WonderCon this April, where he will be emceeing the Masquerade. Are you busy working on your entry?

  • Artist Priscilla Wilson, also known as Valor & Vellum, has also been hard at work on exclusives for WonderCon attendees. We can’t wait to see her exclusive Soonays for the convention.

  • Illustrator and author Joey Spiotto wears many hats: Creator of Grumpy Unicorn; artist behind Storytime, the adorable art prints that combine nostalgia for your favorite films and TV shows with the books from our childhood; exhibitor at both WonderCon and San Diego Comic-Con. Be sure to stop by his booth at BOTH cons to pick up some adorable artwork, new books, and more!

  • Artist Henry Liao is so cool, he’s going to be exhibiting at both WonderCon and San Diego Comic-Con again this year. Swing by to check out his art, and pick up an awesome commission (you won’t regret it!).

  • If you want to see character designer, artist, and illustrator Steve Gordon — you better make plans to attend WonderCon. Currently it’s the only convention he’s set for this year.

  • Can’t get enough fantasy adventure? Then be sure to swing by Battle Quest Comics’ booth at WonderCon, because they’re heading back to the con.

  • Game designer and author P.A. Wikoff revealed that he’s heading to WonderCon this April.

  • Artist Don Nguyen, creator of Pablo the Gorilla, will be making the trek to WonderCon — and he hopes to see you there!

  • Artist Anthony Helmer will also be exhibiting at the con this April, and you can find him in Artist Alley doing sketches and selling awesome art.

  • Orland0-based artist Bindman Art has a few conventions on his list for 2022, including — you guessed it — WonderCon Anaheim 2022.
