Breaking Down the Sunday San Diego Comic-Con 2022 Schedule – Major Rooms by Day

If you’re anything like us, you probably already have your Comic-Con schedule started (and if you don’t — why not?!). Especially with panels, though, it’s helpful to know what else is in the panel room, as sure, your panel might be a walk-in by itself — but what if something major is right after it? Plus, until we get the official schedule, this is also a good way to look at gaps, to see what is yet to be announced.

Without further ado, let’s look at the major panel rooms (Hall H, 6BCF, and 6A) for Sunday broken down by day and timeslot:

12:00PM-1:00PM: Mayans M.C. Screening and Q & A– Described by The Playlist as “one of the best series on TV,” FX’s fuel-injected drama series Mayans M.C. returns to Comic-Con for a special screening and a LIVE conversation with Elgin James (co-creator/executive producer/director/writer) and series stars JD Pardo (EZ Reyes), Clayton Cardenas (Angel Reyes), Danny Pino (Miguel Galindo), Sarah Bolger (Emily Thomas), Emilio Rivera (Marcus Alvarez), Michael Irby (Obispo “Bishop” Losa), Raoul Max Trujillo (Che “Taza” Romero), Frankie Loyal (Hank “Tranq” Loza), Joseph Lucero (Neron “Creeper” Vargas), Vincent Vargas (Gilberto “Gilly” Lopez), Gino Vento (Nestor Oceteva), and JR Bourne (Isaac Packer). Mayans M.C. follows the life of Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes, a member of the Mayans M.C. charter on the Cali/Mexi border. Moderated by IndieWire’s Jim Hemphill. 

1:15PM-2:15PM: What We Do in the Shadows Exclusive Screening and Q & A– FX’s What We Do in the Shadows brings the World’s Greatest Vampire Nightclub to San Diego! Mix it up with the hottest vampires (and their familiar) to come out of Staten Island in hundreds and hundreds of years! Appearing (subject to change): Kayvan Novak (Nandor), Matt Berry (Laszlo), Natasia Demetriou (Nadja), Harvey Guillén (Guillermo), Mark Proksch (Colin Robinson), and Kristen Schaal (The Guide), as well as Paul Simms (executive producer/writer), Stefani Robinson (executive producer/writer), Yana Gorskaya (co-EP/director/editor), and Kyle Newacheck (co-EP/director). Be among the first humans to set eyes on a brand new episode. What We Do in the Shadows airs Tuesdays at 10:00 pm ET/PT on FX and streams the next day on Hulu. BAAAaaaaat! 

2:30PM-3:30PM: Funko: Pop Talk Live! at SDCC Hall H- Funko hosts Brian and Mike take over Hall H for a live session of Pop! Talk. Funko interviews celebrity guests about pop culture influences in their lives as they build themselves as custom Funko Pop! collectibles. This special session will feature Rosario Dawson, Simu Liu, and William Zabka.

10:15AM-11:15AM: I Hear Voices with Will Friedle and Christy Carlson RomanoChristy Carlson Romano (Even Stevens) joins Will Friedle (Boy Meets World, Batman Beyond), the original voices of Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable, as they celebrate the 20th anniversary of their hit Disney animated series Kim Possible as part of a recording of their popular, top-rated podcast I Hear Voices with Will Friedle & Christy Carlson Romano. And you’ll be part of the fun! Christy and Will will be joined by surprise guests as they delve into more fun aspects of the animation industry.

11:30AM-12:30PM: Behind the Bricks with LEGO Entertainment– Get a sneak peek at upcoming LEGO animation, specials, and LEGO Masters.Boon Langston (LEGO Masters) leads a panel sharing exciting new LEGO animation, including a dive into the epic finale of the current Ninjago series and exclusive peeks at the upcoming season of LEGO Masters. Followed by a Q&A featuring Rob May (producer, LEGO Masters), Robert Fewkes (producer, LEGO City Adventures), Jason Cosler (producer, LEGO Star Wars), and Doc Wyatt and Kevin Burke (writers, Ninjago).

12:45PM-2:45PM: Lightyear Screening

3:00PM-4:15PM: Buffy 25th: “Once More With Feeling”: An Interactive Whedonverse Musical– Let’s end this show with a bang! The powers that be behind Fandom Charities, The Hellmouth Con, Whedonopolis.com , and Fandomopolis.com are hosting an interactive screening of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical episode “Once More with Feeling” as Comic-Con’s big closing event. Many say this is the finest, funniest, most ingenious episode ever to come out of the Buffyverse. But remember, the best part of the show is up to you! This episode was made for talkin’—back, that is—and signing and shouting and dancing in the aisles, with or without your dry cleaning! Audience participation: It isn’t just for Rocky Horror and the mob riots anymore!

10:30AM-11:30AM: Marvel: Women of Marvel- The Women of Marvel are here! Writer and podcast host Angelique Roche will lead a lively discussion with Marvel stars including senior editor Lauren Bisom, author Nic Stone (Shuri: A Black Panther Novel), and other Mighty Marvel guests. What is it like for women working in the industry today, and what is next for Marvel’s woman-led titles? And don’t miss a special giveaway at the end of the panel!

11:45AM-1:15PM: Cartoon Voices 2– Once more, animation writer and voice director Mark Evanier assembles a panel of some of the best and most-heard cartoon voice actors in the business to demonstrate their craft. Showing off their skills will be Jim Meskimen (Thundercats, We Baby Bears), Rosemary Watson (Let’s Be Real), Fred Tatasciore (The Hulk, Family Guy), Grey DeLisle (Scooby-Doo, DC Super-Hero Girls), and Zeno Robinson (My Hero Academia, The Owl House). There will be a reading of a classic fairy tale that will never be the same after these people get through with it.

1:30PM-2:30PM: Middle-earth Way Back When: Expanding the 2nd Age– LOTR experts from around the world dive into the mythology of Middle-earth, analyzing the lore of the Second Age and how Amazon’s Rings of Power fits in Tolkien’s Legendarium. Discover the truth about Tolkien’s lore, his inspirations, and his intentions for expanding LOTR. Panelists include Dr. Corey Olsen (Tolkien professor, Signum University), Matt NerdOfTheRings (YouTube lore expert), Anna María (actor and community organizer), Willie Jenkins (TikTok lore expert), Clifford Broadway (producer Ringers), and Justin Sewell (producer at TheOneRing.net ).

2:45PM-4:45PM: Starship Smackdown XXXVI: Battle of the Network Starships in the Multiverse of Madness– As featured on NPR’s All Things Considered and spotlighted in the San Diego Register, the ultimate galactic conflagration which began at Comic-Con in 2002 (that’s two decades ago, in human years) returns to where it all began with all-new surprises and twists for the most dangerous Smackdown ever! Will the Starship Enterprise (no bloody A, B, C, or D) end the Battlestar Galactica’s lonely quest? Can the Serenity defeat an Imperial Star Destroyer? And when it comes to music, it’s brutal out there when the Close Encounters Mothership stares down the maw of the Jefferson Starship. Featuring host Mark A.
