Comic-Con International has unveiled the WonderCon Anaheim 2023 Covid-19 safety measures for this year, and unlike last year, proof of vaccinations or a negative test are not required.
While not required “at this time”, they “recommend” that participants do the following:
- Get vaccinated and boosted for COVID, if appropriate;
- Wear a medical quality mask while attending the event; and
- Obtain a negative COVID test result prior to attending the event.
While their verbiage on masks is a little less clear — they mention that “if you do not have an approved face covering and need one”, we have confirmed with Comic-Con International that masks are not required. You will be able to obtain one at the information desks in the lobby if you desire.
There’s no word yet on if these same safety protocols will be in place for San Diego Comic-Con this summer, but WonderCon is often the testing ground for CCI protocols and procedures.
And of course, CCI reserves the right to change their mind on any of this leading up to WonderCon next month.
