Warner Bros. Pictures – Hall H Saturday July 20 CONFIRMED!

MAN OF STEELLast year, the Warner Bros. Pictures panel was one of the top moments of SDCC. That’s a strong statement given its competition, yet despite a near-sleepless night in line we were surprised by the Godzilla teaser, caught our first glimpse of Man of Steel and Pacific Rim, and treated to over 20 minutes of behind-the-scenes footage and exclusive scenes from Peter Jackson’s return to Middle Earth.

Well folks, better plan accordingly, because we’re about to be wowed again on Saturday, July 20, 2013.

That’s right – a Warner Bros. Pictures rep has just confirmed for us that its Hall H panel will again be on the Saturday of Comic-Con this year.

We can only imagine the films which will be included in its presentation. Just looking at our Movies of SDCC 2013 preview, we list The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug [UPDATE: Peter Jackson has confirmed it will not appear], Alfonso Cuarón’s Gravity starring George Clooney, and the first real footage of Godzilla. Not to mention all the news about the DC cinematic universe. And those are just some of the things we’re expecting to hear – we imagine WB will slip in a few surprises as well.

We think we can see the line for Hall H forming right about now…

What are you expecting to see at the Warner Bros. Pictures panel? Let us know in the comments.

sadly, one does not simply walk into Hall H on Saturday….

Unless it was to see the Immortals panel in 2011, walked right in for that one. Even Hall H on a Friday that year had people just walk in no wait for Spielberg and Pete Jackson. I wouldn’t have believed it if my friend didn’t say bye to me in Gaslamp and text a pic 10 minutes later in Hall H. You never know when there will be a surprise lull or surge really with these things. That being said I want to see more DC universe. And I want them to bring their Swag bags back, I will always remember the bloody HP shirt and I still use that WB tote.

Come on who isn’t excited for some Real Godzilla Footage?!?

Hopefully it lives up to the test footage shown last year and will blow us all away!

  • We can’t wait to see that classic Godzilla design again in a big-budget Hollywood movie! Last year’s teaser was amazing!

Its true, I was able to just walk into the Peter Jackson and Speilberg panel and was not as far away as I would have expected. However, that’s the only time I’ve ever been able to walk in without waiting at least 3 to 4 hours in line.

  • Us too. That was a strange year. The programming schedule was so unbalanced. So many big TV panels in Ballroom 20, not many big movie panels in Hall H.

I’m curious to see how this panel is going to play out, now that it’s been confirmed that Legendary has ended its relationship from WB and will no longer be distributed thru Warner Bros. Remember, two of the headlining films films of last years panel – Man Of Steel and Pacific Rim – were Legendary Films (and, more disturbingly, the last non-Legendary DC Comics film was… Green Lantern. Oh dear.)

Godzilla? A Legendary Pictures production, distributed by Warner Bros. I wonder if that arrangement will still stand, now the two companies have parted ways?
