Xbox One’s ‘Kinect Sports Rivals’ Championship Sends Semifinalists to Comic-Con

ksrwcMicrosoft’s Xbox has been an annual presence at San Diego Comic-Con, so it should be no surprise to know they will be returning again for SDCC 2014.

After stints the last two years in the Hard Rock and the Manchester Grand Hyatt, Microsoft this year will be hosting the semifinals of the Kinect Sports Rivals Championship at Comic-Con, giving four skilled players a free trip to San Diego including airfare, hotel and spending cash.

The semifinal event, to be held on Saturday, July 26, will pit the four semifinalists in a live, “elimination style Championship Tournament”. Players must qualify by placing in the top four for the Wake Race and Climbing World Championship courses and the Bowling minigame leaderboards. The winner of the event will take home $10,000.

From the official rules, here is the specific prize pack for each of the semifinalists:

FOUR U.S. SEMIFINALS WINNERS: Four (4) winners will receive a “Kinect Sports Rivals World Championship Experience,” which includes: (A) automatic entry into the “Kinect Sports Rivals World Championship Tournament” which will take place in San Diego on approximately July 26, 2014; (B) two (2) Passes to the San Diego Comic-Con International taking place July 24 – 27, 2014 at the San Diego Convention Center (the “Event”); (C) Round trip coach class airfare on a major carrier of Sponsor’s choice to San Diego, California from the major U.S. gateway closest to the Winner’s home, for each First Prize Winner and a guest; (D) five days (5) days and four (4) nights hotel accommodations (standard room, double occupancy) at a hotel selected by Sponsor; (E) roundtrip transfers between airport and hotel; (F) roundtrip shuttle transportation between hotel and the Event; (F) a travel stipend of $500.00 and (G) $1,000.00 spending cash. Approximate Retail Value of each First Prize (ARV): $6,350.00.
