In a major shakeup, Funko has officially moved its beloved Fundays event from San Diego Comic-Con to Los Angeles for 2025. The annual celebration — long considered a cornerstone of the SDCC weekend experience for many — will now take place June 27–29 at the Funko Hollywood store, a few weeks ahead of Comic-Con.
Funko confirmed that while Fundays is moving to L.A., Funko the company will still be at San Diego Comic-Con to exhibit.
For many longtime fans, Fundays has been a highlight of the con: an over-the-top evening filled with exclusive reveals, wild prizes, and fan-favorite Freddy Funkos (and prototypes). The shift away from San Diego marks a big change.
So, why the move? According to Funko, this year’s Fundays is a return to roots. The very first Fundays took place in Hollywood, and 2025’s event is a chance to bring it back to that original energy (though we’re sure cost also factored in).
While this means SDCC attendees won’t be getting the usual Friday and/or Saturday night Freddy frenzy, it opens the door to doing something different at the con.
