Are you ready to go there and back again? Wētā Workshop, the New Zealand studio behind some of cinema’s most memorable creatures, props, costumes, and collectibles, is returning to Booth #3613 at San Diego Comic-Con.
Fresh off multiple Academy Awards and decades of bringing fantastical worlds to life, Wētā Workshop is once again filling its booth with new collectibles, live art demonstrations, exclusive reveals, and signings. Co-founder and creative lead Sir Richard Taylor will be on hand throughout the convention, joined by longtime Avatar costume designer Deborah Scott, who will discuss the craftsmanship behind authentic costumes from Avatar: Fire and Ash, several of which will be on display at the booth.
Fans can also watch Wētā Workshop Creative Director Jules German and acclaimed fantasy artist Jerry Vanderstelt create artwork live throughout the weekend.
Middle-earth fans have even more to look forward to. John Rhys-Davies, beloved for portraying Gimli in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, will make appearances at the booth, with the mention that “another special guest from Middle-earth” may also be in attendance.

Preview Night will also bring the debut of Wētā’s brand-new Master Jeweller’s Collection, designed by master jeweller Jasmine Watson, marking the company’s newest premium line inspired by Tolkien’s world.

Returning alongside Wētā is fellow New Zealand company Agoro, bringing an assortment of precious metal collectibles inspired by The Lord of the Rings, Marvel, DC, and more, as pictured below.
Visitors who stop by the booth can also enter to win Wētā’s Ringbearer’s Bundle, which includes a gold-plated One Ring, Frodo’s sterling silver chain, an Elven Leaf Brooch, 500 Wētā Dollars, and a signed pure gold foil collectible.
[UPDATE July 7]
Doctor Doom is coming to San Diego Comic-Con, thanks to Agoro at the Weta Workshop booth. Struck in ½ ounce of .999 pure silver, this collectible features the iconic Marvel villain with his fists raised and his green cape flowing behind him.
Limited to 1,000 pieces worldwide, collectors will have a chance at one of just 100 special Chase editions, which feature a fully engraved colorless finish. Each piece is individually numbered and available exclusively at Comic-Con for $129.

Will you join Magneto… or strike gold? Agoro is bringing a little mystery to San Diego Comic-Con with its new X-Men ’97 Magneto Blind Box.
Each sealed box contains one mystery Magneto collectible struck in 5 grams of .999 pure silver, with four collectible tiers to discover, including an ultra-rare Chase edition crafted in .999 pure gold. Only 20 gold versions exist worldwide

[PREVIOUS]
Among the highlights are Agoro’s new Lord of the Rings collectible blind boxes, featuring pure silver and gold foil versions of some of the Fellowship’s most iconic heroes — including Aragorn, Gandalf, Gimli, Legolas, and Boromir. Every box contains a pure silver foil, with a 9% chance of uncovering a fully engraved variant, and an ultra-rare 1% chance of finding a pure gold version inside. One blind box to rule them all!

The booth won’t be focused solely on Middle-earth, though. Legendary costume designer Deborah Lynn Scott, best known for her Oscar-winning work on Titanic and her contributions to the Avatar films, will be on hand with costumes from the film Avatar: Fire and Ash.
Wētā is also teasing the appearance of a special guest or two from Middle-earth, so stay tuned for more on that.
