Collider has been slowly unveiling its panels for this year, and they’ve got another stacked addition for today. They’re bringing back their popular “Producers on Producing” panel, which gives attendees a behind-the-scenes look at the people responsible for getting some of Hollywood’s biggest films made.
This year’s panel features an impressive lineup of producers, including Simon Kinberg (The Martian, Logan, Deadpool), Andrew Form (A Quiet Place franchise, The Purge franchise), and Brad Fuller (A Quiet Place franchise, The Purge franchise). Moderated by Collider Editor-in-Chief Steven Weintraub, the discussion will explore what producers actually do throughout the filmmaking process, from developing scripts and securing financing to overseeing production and helping shepherd a film all the way to release.
Along the way, the trio will share stories from past projects, offer behind-the-scenes insights into some of their biggest hits, tease what’s ahead, and Collider also promises a few “surprises” for attendees.
Filming on the upcoming A Quiet Place Part III has begun, so it’s not outside the realm of possibilities that fans could be treated to some footage. Kinberg also has Here Comes the Flood, starring Denzel Washington and Robert Pattinson, which he also wrote — it’s debuting sometime later this year on Netflix.
This joins Collider’s previously announced panels, including a career retrospective with filmmaker Brad Bird (which will also include a look at his upcoming animated Ray Gunn), and “Showrunners on Showrunning” which will feature Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation, King of the Hill), Katie Dippold (Widow’s Bay), and Damon Lindelof (Lost, Watchmen, The Leftovers).
Collider also traditionally hosts a “Directors on Directing” panel, and we’re thinking an announcement isn’t far behind.
