The Marvel San Diego Comic-Con panel hasn’t even been officially announced yet, and it’s already shaping up to be huge. Mark Ruffalo told Collider last month that the cast of Avengers: Age of Ultron will be flying in for the convention, but now we know that won’t be the only Marvel film represented at Comic-Con. Actor Michael Douglas, who stars as Hank Pym in the upcoming Ant Man, may have just spilled the beans on an Ant Man presence at the Marvel panel.
During an interviewer with Collider, the interviewer asked Douglas if he was attending San Diego Comic-Con, and Douglas explained:
Yeah! I’m going to Comic-Con. I’m even dragging my son. I promised I’m taking him out of camp … But we gotta be back here. I’ve gotta give a cancer speech on Sunday morning. Marvel’s 8:45 or – 8:45 on Saturday night, so we’re gonna fly all night back and drop him at camp like at 5:30, 6 in the morning in the Adirondacks, and come down and talk to 2,000 head and neck surgeons.
Although that panel time isn’t quite correct, as Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have already announced they will be presenting a huge evening of their joint television ventures (including The Flash, Gotham, Arrow, and Constantine) from 8PM-11PM on Saturday night, could the Marvel panel end just before that?
Last year’s Marvel Studios panel ran from 6PM-7PM in Hall H, and featured both Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It closed out the film panels of Hall H on Saturday, and it very well could again in 2014.
One film we know won’t be getting much of a promotional push at Comic-Con is Guardians of the Galaxy, with director James Gunn already confirming he and the cast won’t be in attendance, and nor will there be an early screening for Comic-Con attendees.
