A little thing like a pandemic doesn’t slow down prolific artist Patrick Ballesteros, who anyone who reads this blog should be well-acquainted with. While there may not be a physical convention this spring, Ballesteros is still bringing his A-game, with brand new debuts and exclusives of your favorite pop culture characters in kid-ified recreations.
So just what has he been working on for 2021? Let’s take a look:
[UPDATE March 25]
Ballesteros has two final WonderCon exclusives this year — and it’s all about Agatha and our favorite science and military team. These two 4″4″ prints (on fine art pearl linen paper) are part of Ballesteros’ “Can You Hear Me Now?” series, which feature an all-time favorite “communication” device of children everywhere: tin cans. The tin cans in the prints connect so any combination of your favorite pop culture characters can talk to each other, and we’re sure Darcy Lewis, Jimmy Woo, and Monica Rambeau would have some very choice words for Agatha.
The two prints — Funnel Patrol and Who’s the Wickedest — will be $8 each, and available on Friday, March 26 at 10AM PT.
[UPDATE March 24]
You didn’t possibly think Ballesteros was finished, did you? No, he’s just getting started. His Adventures in Storytelling WonderCon exclusive pays tribute to the greatest adventurers this side of Paradise Falls, in a new and exclusive addition to Ballesteros’ “The Storybook Club”. This collection of 4″x10″ prints resemble oversized bookmarks, and pay homage to the famous books and stories from our favorite pop culture.
Adventures in Storytelling is a limited edition of 150 available for $18 each, and each is printed on fine art pearl linen paper and comes signed and numbered the artist. You can pick yours up on Friday, March 26 at 10AM PT on Ballesteros’ website.
Don’t touch that dial, as Ballesteros’ next exclusive is one you’ve already seen before, but presented in a very special episode — er, format. If you loved his Stay Tuned print, you’ll be excited to learn a limited edition of 10 are being offered as a 12″x12″ Canvas Print. Each of these WonderCon exclusive canvases are signed and numbered by the artist, and is available for $100 each on Friday, March 26 at 10AM PT.
Note: This item includes FREE shipping, but each canvas ships individually and cannot be combined with other orders. Also, the canvases are only available to be shipped within the intercontinental United States. There’s a limit of 1 per person.
Anyone who has tried to get their hands on Ballesteros’ vinyl Hug or Hug Version 2.0 knows that it hasn’t been an easy task — but you’ll get another shot on Saturday, March 27 at 10AM PT. There’s only 20 left of the second edition, so hurry, because everyone could use a little hug. There’s a limit of 1 per person, and he’s available for $65.
Note: Please choose Priority Shipping at checkout for this item. Hug Version 2.0 ships separately and cannot be combined with other orders.
Finally (for today), Ballesteros is bringing back the return of his Mini Originals. These pint-sized original prints are one-of-a-kind, and each comes framed for $60, with a limit of 1 Mini Original per person — so choose wisely, and hurry, because these won’t last long when they go live on Saturday, March 27 at 10:30AM PT.
To catch a look at all of his minis, tune in to Ballesteros’ Instagram Live on Friday, March 26 at 6PM PT, but you can get a sneak peek below.
[UPDATE March 19]
You don’t have to travel to a galaxy far, far away for Ballesteros’ next debut. He’s created a tribute that’s as epic in scope as the second season ender it’s based on. “The Long Goodbye” is a four-part series of 6″x8″ prints that you can both collect and connect all four of, to re-create the final episode (and as an added bonus, when connected, they form the light cruiser from the episode).
Each print is a limited edition of 150, which comes signed and numbered by the artist. You can pick yours up for $16 each, or $60 for the whole set of four — and hopefully you don’t have to battle any Dark Troopers for it on Friday, March 26 at 10AM PT on on Ballesteros’ website.
[UPDATE March 17]
Do you want to set sail on the “In Con Sea Vable”, battle six-fingered murderers, and find true love? As you wish. Patrick Ballesteros’ latest offering is “Where’s Wes?”, a beautiful 12″x18″ print that’s debuting at WonderCon. This cartography-style map features all your favorite swashbucklers, pirates, princesses, and more, with so many fun details that it’s practically… inconceivable!
It’s printed on 100lb cover toned paper, and each print is signed by the artist. You can pick up yours for just $35 on Ballesteros’ website on Friday, March 26 at 10AM PT.
[UPDATE March 14]
Up first, it’s all about Agatha (and the rest of the WandaVision crew) in Ballesteros’ new 25 Cent Wonder called “Stay Tuned”. This 9×12 print on Fine Art Linen Paper will cast a spell on you, especially for only $20. You’ll get a chance to try and snag one on Ballesteros’ website on Friday, March 26 at 10AM PT.
Don’t change the channel, though, as we’ve got more of Ballesteros’ work to show off soon.
