Monkey Minion San Diego Comic-Con Exclusives, Debuts [UPDATE July 18]

Monkey Minion, the design company owned by husband and wife Dane Ault and Ashlie Hammond, are always one of our must-stops on the show floor at San Diego Comic-Con. Between their clean, expansive designs typically centered around space, nature, and dinosaurs — and the way they are both just genuinely nice people, Booth #2007 is always a fun time.

[UPDATE July 18]

Monkey Minion will be launching a brand new creation at San Diego Comic-Con, Book-o-Rama, a combination story book and diorama craft kit. Each Book-o-Rama has a six-page picture book you can read and once you are done, you can use the enclosed instructions to craft it into a desktop paper diorama. Each Book-o-Rama will be $20.

Two designs will debut this week at SDCC: an educational space themed one about the Voyager space craft which includes space themed stickers, and another featuring a new NoBot character “4N-715-UN” (anti sun) with a very special San Diego beach ball cutout.

Which Book-o-Rama will you be picking up at booth #2007?

[UPDATE July 6]

We’re going home, you guys. Monkey Minion has once again captured the feeling of what San Diego Comic-Con is for so many of us with this “The H Stands For Home!” SDCC exclusive 5″x7″ postcard.

It’s limited to 1,000 pieces, and will be available for just $5 at Booth #2007.

[UPDATE July 1]

Ever feel like a robot who hates everything? Monkey Minion captures that feeling with these NoBots pins, screenprinted on enameled metal, for a unique look based on the art prints they’re based on. You can grab them for $15 each or two for $25 at Booth #2007, or the Monkey Minion website.

[UPDATE June 24]

This year, they’re paying tribute to the convention itself with a new exclusive for San Diego Comic-Con. It’s lonely out in space — and it’s been a long, long time since we’ve seen the San Diego Convention Center all decked out for the July convention. While Comic-Con Special Edition in November was a nice taste of our favorite con, it wasn’t… home.

This “Home Again” 13×19 giclee print celebrates that feeling of getting back to the place many of us love the most. It’s limited to only 200 pieces at Booth #2007, and each is hand trimmed, signed, and numbered. You can pick it up for $50 at the con, and they’ll have information on daily availability closer to the convetion.
