Mondo San Diego Comic-Con 2023 Exclusives [Update July 13]

Mondo, best known for their beautiful limited edition screen printed posters, has expanded their offerings over the years to also encompass vinyl records, toys and collectibles, and more. After being acquired by Funko in June of 2022, their presence at San Diego Comic-Con last year saw them placed in “Funkoville”, Funko’s gigantic portion of the floor that showcased all of their different brands (including Funko proper as well as Mondo and Loungefly) in different “shops”.

Since last summer, there have been lots of changes over at Mondo (to put it mildly). There are a lot of eyes on Mondo at San Diego Comic-Con this summer, to see how Funko and the newly-restructured Mondo approach the convention. We’ll have to stay tuned for more details, but we’re sure that they’ll still be offering posters, vinyl, and more that fans will be clamoring for.

At the convention, Mondo will not be part of the online exclusives portal, and will instead be walk-up and first come/first serve. Stay tuned for more information.

Mondo revealed their line-up of San Diego Comic-Con exclusives, which will include their four 1/6 scale figures available online (which includes Prince Adam, Man-Bat, Logan from X-Men the Animated Series, and Magneto).

At the booth, they will be at booth #5137, where daily Thursday-Sunday they will be distributing wristbands from 9:30am-10am on a first-come, first-serve basis for timeslots. The booth will be closed from 2pm-3pm for a break, and then after 3pm, the booth will open to anyone for remaining quantities.

You can view the daily schedule here.

With that said, let’s take a look at this year’s exclusives for San Diego Comic-Con:

In advance of the Spider-Man 2 PlayStation game set to release in October, Tomer Hanuka depicts both Peter Parker and Miles Morales in battle against Venom. This print will be a limited edition of 215 copies for $85 and will be on sale at the convention starting Thursday, July 20. There will also be an online variant.

[UPDATE June 15]

Licensing Expo is in full swing in Las Vegas right now, and Toy Shiz was on hand to catch a look at the first tease of Mondo’s plans for this year’s convention. At the Expo, they showed off an X-Men: The Animated Series Logan 1:6 collectible. It’s the newest item in their X-Men: The Animated Series 1/6 line-up, which also includes plenty of other fan favorite characters, including Gambit, Jubilee, Magneto, and more — as well as last summer’s fun SDCC variant which recreated the viral moment of Wolverine laying in “bed” staring at a photo of Jean Grey with Cyclops.

This new Wolverine will be one of several online exclusives timed to release on mondoshop.com during San Diego Comic-Con. There’s no word yet on pricing, but based on other items in the line, you can probably expect it to be priced around $200.
