Chris Maze San Diego Comic-Con 2023 Exclusives & Debuts [Update July 15]

One of our favorite aspects of San Diego Comic-Con is the opportunity to find new, exciting artists. Comic-Con International has been great at cultivating a varied Artists Alley, with both established icons in the industry while also giving newer artists an opportunity to shine.

Last year, we really sat up and paid attention to artist Chris Maze, whose artwork is fun, clever, and shows off a wide variety of styles for everything from Star Wars to original characters. This year, he’ll be back at San Diego Comic-Con, at Dial R Studios Booth #2103, where he’ll have new debuts and his first official SDCC exclusive.

Stay tuned for more details, but until then, you can see more of Chris’s work on Instagram.

[UPDATE JULY 15]

For his final release, Chris Maze is debuting a sequel to his original four-piece set “Be a Brontosaurus” with the aptly-titled “Be a Brontosaurus 2”. Each print in the set is 5″x5″, and you can find it at Booth #2103 for $20.

[UPDATE JULY 14]

When I was younger, I entered a pun contest. A famous magazine was giving out a big prize for the best pun, so I went ahead and submitted ten of them. You’d think with those kind of odds, I would’ve won, but no pun in ten did.

Why would I tell you a lame Dad Joke? to introduce today’s reveal from Chris Maze, titled “No Pun Intended“. You’ll find this 5″x7” print featuring Joel & Ellie from The Last of Us surrounded by fungus, fireflies, and a clicker lurking about at Booth #2103 for $15.

Make sure to check to back each day until July 15 (that’s tomorrow!) to see a new reveal from Chris Maze.

[UPDATE JULY 13]

Do you have it in a smaller size? If Chris Maze’s original 13″x19″ “Animal Crossing: New Horizons Await” print was too daunting for your wall, Maze will have a desk-sized 5″x7″ version at Booth #2103 for $12. If it’s the original 13″x19″ version you’re looking for, that will be available as well.

UPDATE #2 JULY 12]

[UPDATE June 1]

Chris Maze is kicking things off with his first ever SDCC exclusive, which will only be available at the show. Like many of us, he loves the convention itself, and its summer reunion/summer camp feeling. He’s captured that feeling with a new 1.25″ hard enamel pin, which features nods to the con in a beautiful new design on shiny gold plating.

Best of all, the pin is free with every purchase of $30 or more, while supplies last. So be sure to stop by his booth starting Wednesday, July 19 to pick up your art and claim a pin. It’s limited to just 50 pins though, so hurry.
