Because if you let it be a free for all the area would be too packed. I hate the raffle but it is better because the celebs can’t stay forever signing.

    2. The raffle is to win one of the limited wristbands that enables you to get in the line for autograph. You can’t just walk up at signing time.

    1. The Great Leon

They let us in at like 6:30 but the person is always late so drawing doesn’t start until 8 sometimes even 9.

      1. I did the WB drawings both Fri and Sat last year and they were not late. That booth was fully staffed and distributing tickets immediately. Tickets are gone and done by 9am.

        1. The Great Leon

I was there too the person was late on Friday. That was the Game of Thrones day. I could be thinking of 2 years ago but I remember one time the person was late.

          1. Kristin Ouchi

Last year I waited in line on Saturday morning at 2am. The start letting the line in for sails pavilion at 6:00am and WB starts it’s drawings at 6:30am. I was done around 7/7:30 am and I won my autograph ticket for Vampire Diaries

          2. Oh cool, what are the chances of actually winning a ticket? Like could you end up waiting since 2am and not get a ticket at all?

        2. Were you able to get wristbands both days? I really wanna try for it but then if I don’t get one I don’t get to see the panel either so I’m not sure if it’s worth the risk

          1. Yes. On Friday, even though we’d been in line since 5am there was a security snafu and SO MANY people were already in line when we got there….so by the time we were at the front it was slim pickings and we got into The 100 signing. Saturday we fared much better and got in there in time to be close enough to go through twice and got Gravity the first time and Person of Interest the second time. It was a lot of fun!

          2. What time did you get their Saturday? And do you choose which signing you wanna go to or is it random? Like was Gravity your top choice on Saturday?

  1. They should do the ticket raffle the DAY BEFORE the celebrities’ panel, so you can still go to the panel the next day if you aren’t lucky enough to get an autograph ticket. The way it is now, you have to choose either getting in line for the panel, OR getting in line for the autograph raffle drawing. If you do the latter, you take the risk of getting shut out of both!

  2. My friend and I want to try for some of the Friday ticketed autograph sessions, but we both also have to get our badges that morning. Can anyone please help me with advice on the best way to go about this? I’m totally willing to camp out…I just want to make sure I’m parked in the right line. 🙂

    1. AdrianaFriend

Have your friend hold your place in line while you go get your badge. Security will let you guys switch out to get badges as long as one of you is there. The line to the exhibit hall moves like a snail even after the doors open because everyone goes down one escalator. You should be good.

      1. Except that the badge desk doesn’t open until 8:30 and some autograph ticketing events start at 6 or 7-ish! What then? I’m in the same predicament for Thursday AM but I think I read somewhere that you can use your barcode (that they emailed to you) to prove that you have a badge for that day… Can anyone confirm this?

  3. Coleman Martinson

Does anyone know about the walking dead tickets and how it works? They don’t have a booth in sails pavilion so is it first to the booth in the exhibit hall or what?

  4. AdrianaFriend

I’m assuming TWD is like last year’s. In which case, you will be getting in line at the AMC booth and the man/woman in charge will have a bag with around 50 winning tickets and 100 losing tickets. As the line progresses (you pick a winner, you get in. You pick a loser, back of the line) the number of winning tickets dwindles. I was lucky enough last year to bring 3 people with me and one of us won.

      1. That’s wonderful! I’ve been to many Cons but this is my first SDCC. What’s the protocol for HoH and Deafies, do you know? Do they have a section reserved so we can see the ‘terp? That’s so cool that your friend does that!

  5. There are only a small number of panels that I’m “gotta go to or I’ll just cry” about, so I’m going to take your advice to heart and line up early early. Thanks so much for the link and the advice!!!

Any news about a Supernatural signing? There’s usually one Sunday after the panel, but I haven’t seen anything posted about it.
